The start of the sewing adventure
About a week before Chris (Mr Husband) and I moved from New Zealand to Australia I was at the craft shop with a pregnant girlfriend when I saw this pattern from Simplicity (Design 2165) I just had to have it.
Now I had a fantastically awesome pattern but two problems
1. I had no sewing machine. We sold 98% of our stuff before we left and I although super tempted didn't think fronting up with a brand new sewing machine would impress Chris.
2. Possibly the bigger of the two problems. I didn't know how to sew, if I liked sewing, anything about sewing.
BUT I did have a very pretty pattern and plenty of enthusiasm.
Creatively I know Im not a total reject, I cross stitched for a number of years, last year started knitting, about 6 months ago took up crochet. Being crafty makes me ridiculously excited, I will lie asleep at night thinking about projects, a great weekend for me is one spent creating something new and different.
This blog is about me learning to sew, other crafty projects and a little bit of life thrown in
